It’s been a hot minute since I’ve done a blog post. The reason? I switched website providers and the theme through the company hosting my site disappeared, rendering my website a dumpster fire, which included making it impossible to create blog posts. Thankfully, I managed to find a temporary work around until a permanent fix [...]
Summer is over. This might be a sad time for teachers, but for parents-especially those working from home-there are no sweeter words. My daughter started kindergarten this week, bringing in a new era. My baby is officially a student. I admit it. I cried a little. My son is clearly NOT thrilled that summer is [...]
Today is my birthday. Whoo Hoo! To celebrate, and to say thanks to (YOU) my readers, I'm having an online party on Facebook tonight. I'd love for you to join. You can do so by clicking here. It's going to be a rocking time with lots of fun stuff to see, hear, and win! Here's what's on the agenda. FB [...]
March 2-6 was reading week at my son's school. First Baptist Christian School invited me to read one of the books they were celebrating, and to speak with students about writing, being an author, and my experiences on the journey to publication. Deadly Bloodlines is book one in my Deadly Series, and is set in the Cayman Islands where I live. But back to the book. A serial killer determined to repeat a murderous pattern that started twenty years ago. Years after leaving Cayman because of her notorious serial killer mother, Angel Mason returns as an inspector on [...]
Public Speaking is a talent some people take to like a fish to water while others, like myself, had to work at it. My previous boss encouraged me to speak at meetings and events, however most times I chickened out and deferred to him. When he left the company I was forced to do speeches and [...]
When I first started writing people always asked why I didn't write about Cayman. The truth? I write about where the stories and characters take me. I was pleasantly surprised when one of my stories (yes, it did decide) happened in Grand Cayman. Before I knew it, I had a four book series on my [...]
Before publishing my first book, I had the crazy idea I'd make a name for myself publishing short stories in magazines and contests. What a joke! Writing a short story was more challenging than a novel. I had several offers to participate in anthologies, but fear of my limitations with short stories stopped me each time. The last time I was [...]
