Another year is gone and with it comes the feel of a fresh start, setting resolutions, and crossing our fingers that we’ll keep them this year. A friend of mine said she stopped making resolutions and decided to go with setting goals instead. That’s what I’m talking about! So, this year I challenge you to not make resolutions, but goals. But not just any goals, specific goals. What does that mean you ask? Instead of saying “I want to lose weight this year.” Say, “I plan to lose 25 pounds by the end of the year by working out twice a week for ten minutes and reducing my sweet intake to once a week.”
I like to think making it a goal instead of a resolution tricks your mind. It works for me, so maybe it’ll work for you too. My motto is DREAM BIG, but you can just dream you have to act. This is where goals come in.
Do you have a goal or dream for 2013? Tell me about it for a chance to win a copy of my debut novel, For the Love of Jazz. Please make sure to leave your email address so I can contact you if you win.
There’s also THREE grand prizes. You as a reader can go to EACH blog and comment with your email address and be entered to win. Yep, you can enter over 200 times!
Now what are those prizes?
1st Grand Prize: A Kindle Fire or Nook Tablet
2nd Grand Prize: A $300 Amazon or B&N Gift Card
3rd Grand Prize: A Swag Pack that contains paperbacks, ebooks, 50+ bookmarks, cover flats, magnets, pens, coffee cozies, and more!
Thanks for visiting my blog. Please show the other authors some love. Stop by the blogs below. Happy New Year and don’t forget to DREAM BIG.
My goals for this year include releasing my debut novel and moving to a new city. I am SO excited!!
I hope you have a wonderful new year!

Good luck with the release and moving. Both are challenging, but exciting!
Same to you, Michel! Thanks for stopping by.
For the Love of Jazz sounds fabulous–Chicago’s one of my favorite cities. And ghosts too! My goal is to get out more and see old friends. I’ve been buried in my study too long. Happy New Year! M. S. meredithATmeredithellsworthDOTcom
Thanks, Meredith! I love Chicago even though I was only there once. Not such of fan of ghosts, not real ones anyway. LOL. Sounds like you need a break. Friends are great with that. Happy 2013!
Oh I have big dreams, but I don’t think they are for 2013, maybe for 2014. I would like to transform my non-profitable clinic into a school for ADHD kids. Instead of half a day services a full day service. 🙂
Happy 2013!

My goal is to be gentle with myself as I try to lose weight, a slip does not mean I failed or that I need to give up. I also want to make as many happy memories with my loved ones that I can this year. The last two years have been pretty rough for us, so this year I’m going to turn that around.

This year we are going to take a real family vacation. We have been married for 15 years and haven’t taken the kids anywhere. Many reasons why, but this year, we are changing that. Looking for a pet friendly cabin for a week’s vacation. We will do it.
Happy New Year.

WOW! Hope you all find what you’re looking for. Finding pet friendly places is hard. My in-laws don’t travel without their dogs and cat.
Family vacations are so important. They don’t have to be anywhere special or for very long. Hope it becomes an annual event.

Hi! Happy New Years! Hmm. I dont really make new year resolutions. I kinda just take it one day at a time and go from there. Thanks for the awesome hop and all the giveaways! This is so fun! I love these hops! I always meet new authors, reconnect with old ones and my TBR list grows by leaps and bounds! Thank you!! Have a great day! Best wishes and many blessings to you!
shadowluvs2read(at)gmail(dot)com
Taking it one day at a time is good. Wish I could do that. I’m too much of a planner not to have goals.
These hops are fun and great for meeting people and growing your TBR list. All the best for 2013. Thanks for stopping by.
Happy New Year to you!
verusbognar (at) gmail (dot) com
I’ve never made resolutions, either, and I have a short-term goal to finish editing my current novel. It’s actually my ninth book, but I guess I’ve always been intimidated by the prospect of getting my work published. (I don’t want to self-publish unless it’s my last option.) But not this year. I’m going to go for it, because heck, I’ve been telling stories and writing since I was six. It’s what I was meant to do.

Happy New Year! My New Years traditions are easy, I spend time with my family and friends. I can’t think of a better way to ring in the new year. My resolutions this year is as always to loose a few pounds and spend a little more time with my family.

Happy New Year from What-Are-They.com ! I hope you have a great one. Thanks for taking part in the hop.
I don’t really have a New Year tradition. I like to do something different each year. Go with the flow and see where the tide takes me kind of attitude.
What book am I looking forward to coming out this year? My own… 😉 Hey- I can hope!
I also hear that “The Burn Palace” by Stephen Dobyns is supposed to be good. That comes out in Feb.
I know a guy who went SCUBA diving under the water where New Year’s fireworks were being set off this year. He got some neat shots of “how the fish see the celebration.” That sounds like a fun place to ring in the new year!
